Diamonds are forever! Who doesn’t like diamonds? Well, this was the heading on the patchwork book I flicked through looking for ideas on doing a good patchwork design. My favourite hobby, in a long line of history of creating/designing and producing a finished product that is imagination filled, historic (used fabric from old shirts/blouses) and much more!
From the beginning when choosing the correct colour scheme to matching together the appropriate colours and then watching it grow into an actual cushion, I enjoy and love every minute of the challenge involved, where I go to my sewing room, which is a separate entity and feel I can lose myself there after a stressful day, and come out relaxed, rejuvenated where I play my meditation music, light my candles, and burn some incense depending on my mood. Hi all, am finally back and ready to engage with the world again, having taken some time out to rejuvenate and re-energise which I believe we all need to do at times. Am starting back to giving a weekly Yoga class in Bagenalstown Resource Centre from Thursday 9th February 7.00 - 8.15pm...as it is a good time to make a new start with this unique Dru-Yoga with soft-flowing movements to relax the mind and unite the Body and soul in peace as we can see that amazing stretch in the evenings to brighten our days. More details to follow soon, so please feel free to share/pass on.
The one and only Meditation Creek has gone through a fabulous make- over in the past couple of weeks, some new flowers, a new walkway, loads of hard work going on here. All we need now is some fine weather to enjoy our little peace of paradise.
A peaceful relaxing place like this can make such a difference when practicing a yoga session. A little place to retreat and let go. Here at Meditation Creek we are lucky enough to have space to play with, but anyone can turn their garden into a little peace of paradise with a few flowers, some elbow grease and their imagination ;) With its origin in India, Yoga is an impressive 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice which aims to transform both body and mind.
Back in December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. The call for June 21st as International Day of Yoga came from Hon’ble Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi stated: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature". June 21, which is the Summer Solstice has special significance in many parts of the world. Mr. Narendra Modi had said that, "the date is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and "Yogi and mystic, Sadhguru notes the importance of this day in the yogic tradition: “On the day of the summer solstice, Adiyogi [the first yogi] turned south and first set his eyes on the Saptarishis or Seven Sages, who were his first disciples to carry the science of yoga to many parts of the world and thus International Yoga Day is now celebrated on June 21st every year. |
